I lost all my hair to cancer. When it finally grew back in, the cancer treatment curled it super tight. (this is a common side-effect many patients experience.) after a year and a half worth of growth, I went to this salon and asked IF she could loosen it up and make it more manageable. I told her I did not want perm solution on my head and explained my hair was baby fine and explained about the cancer treatment and it was all brand new virgin hair. She said it would only be on the tips. She proceeded to douse my whole head. When I exclaimed, she said she had to (this was NOT what she said beforehand) and then she didn't wash it off completely. She burned my hair so bad she even burned the roots. Of course I didn't realize the extent of damage until a few days later. I called her and told her she had fried my hair. She had me come over and she did a deep conditioning which helped some with the the burned texture but didn't repair the roots. She said she would do another treatment in a few weeks. She never did the follow-up treatment or anything else. She did enough to make it impossible for me to sue her. It's been a year now. I have learned that it may take 3 years for the damaged roots to heal and then I will need to have all the old hair cut off. Great. I will go back to being bald again. I wish there was a law that would shave her head bald and let her experience what she just did to me. She never refunded my money (almost $100 for her perm burn) and then never remedied the damage she did. She stole 1 1/2 years of growth, plus 3 years to heal and grow out the damaged hair Then it will take another 1 1/2 years just to get back to where I was BEFORE she destroyed my hair and roots. That's 6 years of my life and she got paid to do it and had no conscience whatsoever about it. Can you even begin to imagine how angry I am? I just do not understand how someone with a lifetime of experience could do such a thing to a cancer patient. To be clear - it was the mother, not the daughter who did this. I could swear I saw her daughter looking at me with pity.
